Clair E. ‘Butch’ Barnes, 71, of Gary Lane, Edinburg, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loved ones, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born September 8, 1943 in New Castle, a son of the late James Barnes and Gladys (Shaffer) Barnes Pape. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Christopher Pape. He married Nora May (Mohan) Barnes May 24, 1962, she survives in Edinburg. Mr. Barnes was a truck driver for 22 years and was very proud to have hauled a piece of equipment that went to the moon, he also helped build Pearson Park. He was a life time member of the Jagielly Club and enjoyed fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, country music, beer, watching Court Shows on TV, playing the harmonica and the spoons and was an avid Steelers fan. He also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Patricia A. Karns and her husband Randolph of New Castle, Norman J. Barnes and his wife Robin of Hillsville, Rae A. Carpenter of Edinburg, and Lorrie M. Mullins and her husband William of Edinburg, one brother, Ron Barnes of New Castle, one step-brother, James Pape of Kentucky, one sister, Carol McCormick of New Castle, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating.
