Ella Jane Strayer, 70, of Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville, PA, formerly of New Castle, died Friday morning, February 3, 2006 at Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, Pennsylvania. She was born June 3, 1935 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Lawrence and Julia (Withrow) Mitchell, they precede her in death. She was married to Jack Strayer, who died February 19, 2000. Mrs. Strayer was a homemaker and a member of the 2nd United Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Moose Club and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by 3 sons, Carl H. Strayer, George H. Strayer, and Jackie W. Strayer all of New Castle, PA, 3 brothers, William E. Mitchell, Carl R. Mitchell and Lawrence H. Mitchell all of New Castle, PA, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 sons, James Strayer and Zearl Strayer.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
