Samuel L. Bessell

Samuel L. Bessell, 74, of 12th St., West Pittsburg, died Sunday evening, December 14, 2008 at his home in West Pittsburg. He was born September 10, 1934 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late William and Ethel (Mallemen) Bessell. He married Shirley Ann (Nerti) Bessell in 1960, she survives in West Pittsburg. Mr. Bessell was a cement tester at Medusa Cement Co. retiring after over 35 years. He was a former member of the Diaz Club and a member of the West Pittsburg Croation Club. Mr. Bessell was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Samuel L. Bessell, II and his wife Marcy of West Pittsburg, PA, two daughters, Diana L. Magno of New Castle, PA, Stacey Sharopshire and her husband Rodney of West Pittsburg, PA, one brother, William A. Bessell of New Castle, PA, two sisters, Mrs. James (Susan) Stock and Mrs. Mike (Bonnie) Kapraly both of New Castle, PA and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 11 am to 12 pm.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Louis LaGatta of Caleb International Ministries will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home.
