John A. Stalnecker

John A. Stalnecker, 88, of Haven Nursing Home, New Castle, formerly of Vista South, New Castle, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Haven Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born February 12, 1927 in College Hill, Pennsylvania a son of the late Ada (Calhoun) Stalnecker Mohrbacher. He was married to the late Mary Jane Tanner McKissick who died August 30, 2003. He also was married to the late Naomi Stalnecker who died May 14, 1991. Mr. Stalnecker was a crane operator for B&W retiring after over 30 years. He also was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Stalnecker was a member of the VFW and the CG's. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed roller-skating when he was younger. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and making wood crafts. Mr. Stalnecker loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by eight children, Donna L. Dyer and her husband Donovan of Connecticut, Norene A. Gallo of New Castle, John C. Stalnecker and his wife Ann of New Castle, Gerald W. Stalnecker of New Castle, Georgann Gall and husband Jack of New Castle, Becky S. George and husband Carl of New Castle, Linda W. Orzechowski of Beaver Co., PA, and Marti Lynn Robinson and husband Lenny of New Castle, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Stalnecker, and one sister, Florence Wilson.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, May 10, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Beaver Falls.
