A loving caring woman went to be with our Lord the morning of April 25th 2015. Sally L. Lastoria an adoring wife, mother, and grandmother from New Castle passed away at the Jameson Memorial Hospital after an extended battle with her health. She is survived by her devoted husband Michael R. Lastoria. Mike and Sally were married for 58 wonderful years. Sally had 2 loyal sons Tyrone Lastoria and his fiancée Joanna Greco of Hopewell and Kevin Lastoria and dedicated daughter-in-law Frances Lastoria of New Castle. She was an active member of Grace Bible Church for 45 years. Sally was a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer and sang in the church choir. Her faith was undying and the friendships and comfort she found at Grace Bible meant the world to her. Mike and Sally were avid volunteers at the City Rescue Mission, as a bean distributor and bean counter (accounting)! Sally was a talented seamstress and was an asset to “A Grand Day Bridal Boutique” in New Castle where she helped many a happy girl with the perfect fit. She loved sewing so much, she designed special one of a kind clothing for her boys and only granddaughter, family, and a pleased clientele. Sally also worked 11 years at Western- Southern Life Insurance, where she was a secretary after graduating from the Shenango Valley School of Business in 1987, with an associate degree in business and was on the Presidents list for all six quarters. Sally brought many smiles to the faces of children as the owner/ operator of a Good Humor ice cream truck for many years. She was an avid Steelers fan. She also enjoyed rooting for the Pirates and rarely missed a game. Sally enjoyed crafting in her special room filled with all kinds of fun stuff, which she loved to create and share with others. Sally was 74 years old, and was born May 5th, 1940 in New Castle. She graduated from Shenango High School in 1958. She was preceded in death by her Father Albert Boughter and her Mother Goldie (Young) Boughter. Also preceded by her were her Brother Edward Mazur, and her Sister Virginia Kennedy. Sally was survived by her Sisters Shirley Sallmen Sr., Darlene Schrantz, and Brother Albert Boughter, and in addition a special loving caregiver niece Deborah Mazur Cory. Sally also had loving companions Buddy Buttons and Baby Cakes. Sally’s heart and soul were her 3 grandchildren Natalie and husband Rob, Brad and wife Aline, Tim and wife Nicole, and 5 great grandchildren, Kylie, Elijah, Kailin, Caleb and Alyvia that she loved to play with and adored.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 28th 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the William F. DeCarbo Funeral Home 926 Cunningham Ave. New Castle, PA 16101. A visitation will also be held from 10:30 am to 12:00 am with a service to follow at noon in the Chapel at the William F. DeCarbo Funeral Home. A luncheon will be held at the Grace Bible Church at 1450 Old Princeton Road in New Castle following the service. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in New Castle.
