William P. 'Babe' Albertini

William P. ‘Babe’ Albertini, 81, of Crowe St., New Castle, died Monday afternoon, January 12, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born July 13, 1927 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Antonio and Concetta (Biondi) Albertini. He was married to Jessie (Eiler) Albertini who died in 1997. Mr. Albertini was a truck driver retiring after 41 years of service with Ed Chadderton Trucking and Graziani Trucking. He was a member of the Teamsters and a World War II veteran of the Marine Corp. serving in China.

He is survived by two daughters, Toni Fox and her husband Russell of New Castle, PA, and Shirley Albertini of Greenville, SC, two sons, William Albertini and his wife Sharon of New Castle, PA, and Jeffrey Albertini of New Castle, PA, one son, George Albertini of New Castle, PA, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his son Anthony W. Albertini, and his brother Pete Albertini.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 5 to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
