Larry Joseph Duffy

Larry Joseph Duffy, 62, of Mt. Herman Church Rd., New Castle, died Monday afternoon, January 26, 2009 at Grove City Medical Center in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He was born December 21, 1946 in Grove City, Pennsylvania a son of the late Stephen and Violet (Adams) Duffy. He married Susan M. (Goehring) Duffy on April 18, 1975, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Duffy was a Cottage Supervisor at the Youth Development Center retiring after 32 years. He was a Marine veteran of Vietnam receiving two Purple Hearts for his service. Mr. Duffy was a member of the Elk Lodge #69, a former member of the Castlewood Sportsmen Club and loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one son, Stephen ‘Zack’ Duffy of New Castle, PA, two daughters, Angela Duffy of New Castle, PA, and Becky Brink of Girard, OH, two brothers, Stanley ‘Stush’ Zduniak of Mercer, PA, and Mike Zduniak of New Castle, PA, one sister, Patty Harlan of New Castle, PA and ten grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Kapetanovich.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Elks Lodge #69, Cascade St., New Castle. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
