Shirley A. Bessell

Shirley A. Bessell, 79, of 12th Street, West Pittsburg, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at her home in West Pittsburg. She was born November 20, 1935 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Cappatt) Nerti. She was married to the late Samuel Bessell who died in 2008. Mrs. Bessell worked at Airway Luggage for a number of years and retired at a baker from DeRosa Bakery. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Diana Bessell of West Pittsburg, Samuel Bessell, II and his wife Marci of Neshannock Twp. and Stacy Shropshire of West Pittsburg, one brother, Phillip Nerti of Wampum, one sister, Betty Miller of West Pittsburg, and seven grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rodney Shropshire, four brothers, Joseph, Patsy, Victor and John Nerti and five sisters, Theresa Mozzocio, Jennie Stelter, Josephine Winter, Rose Nerti and Mary Nerti.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
A blessing service will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Father James Downs will officiate. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery.
