Garnet M. Cook

Garnet M. Cook, 72, of Paul Street, New Castle, formerly of Dewey Avenue, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born May 4, 1943 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Anthony and Virginia (Russo) Gentile. She was married to the late John Cook who died June 15, 2008. Mrs. Cook was a self-employed beautician for over 35 years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Dukes and the St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and traveling. Mrs. Cook also loved spending time with her family and nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one sister, Estelle A. DelPrincipe and her husband David of New Castle, and two brothers, Anthony P. Gentile of New Castle, and Nick J. Gentile and his wife Karen of New Castle.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Bill Siple of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Parkside Cemetery.
