Ralph Anthony Audino, 86, of Monroe St., New Castle, died Sunday evening, February 1, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born February 15, 1922 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Pasquale and Rose (DeRobbio) Audino. He married Lena (Masinando) Audino on May 2, 1953, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Audino was a mail handler and clerk for the U.S. Post Office retiring after 27 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Vitus Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, Eagles Club, Knights of Columbus and the St. Vitus Holy Name. Mr. Audino loved Notre Dame sports and enjoyed the Glen Miller Band. He will be fondly remembered as a man of strong faith and his greatest joy was his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by, two sons, Patsy Audino and his wife Debbie of Youngstown, OH, and Thomas Audino of New Castle, PA, five grandchildren, Allison Audino, Alissa Burick and husband Adam, Amy Houk and husband Jamie, Alexis Audino and Angela Audino, and two great grandsons, Aiden Burick and Cameron Houk.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Anthony Audino, and his sister Teresa Santangelo.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave., New Castle, on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery in New Castle.
