Anthony F. ‘Dudey’ Perrett, 91, of N. Cedar St., Mahoningtown, died Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. He was born April 29, 1917 in Lowellville, Ohio a son of the late Daniel and Mary (Galucci) Perrett. He married Laura (Russo) Perrett on June 29, 1946, she survives in Mahoningtown. Mr. Perrett was a caster at Universal Rundle retiring after 38 years. Before that he worked in the Inventory Department at United Engineering and was Owner and Cook of Louis's Restaurant in Mahoningtown during World War II. Mr. Perrett was a 1936 graduate of New Castle High School and a running back on the 1935 Undefeated Red Hurricane Football Team. That year he ran for a 75 yard touchdown, which was a team record at the time. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the Eagles Club and enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing and watching football and baseball. Mr. Perrett will be remembered as being devoted to his family and he set an example of selflessness to those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, two daughters, Marianne Pugliese and her husband Pat of Henderson, NV, and Terri Haney and her husband James of New Castle, PA, two brothers, James and Tom Perrett both of New Castle, PA, three sisters, Bridget Cobb and Margaret Pallerino of New Castle, PA, and Betty Hoagland of Las Vegas, NV, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Also, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Daniel, Michael, Sylvester, Charles, and Joseph Perrett, and three sisters, Delores Marmo, Anna Stanley, and Mary Sawick.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 5pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
