Rino Chiaverini, 84, of Willowhurst Circle, New Castle, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born June 26, 1931 in Palena, Italy a son of the late Fred and Maria (Mascente) Chiaverini. He was married to Clara (Giangiuli) Chiaverini on October 18, 1952, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Chiaverini was a crane operator at United, Mesta and Bessemer Cement retiring after many years. He loved the outdoors and gardening and he grew Christmas Trees for many years. He gave vegetables to all his neighbors and donate bushels every year to the City Rescue Mission.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Fred Chiaverini and his wife Cindy of New Castle, Cathy Nocera and her husband Mario of New Castle, and Rena Kirsch and her husband Paul of Westport, CT, two brothers, Tony Chiaverini of New Castle, and Mauro Chiaverini of York, PA, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister in Italy.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Joseph the Worker Church will be officiating.
