Florence M. D'Ambrosia

Florence M. D'Ambrosia, 91, of South New Castle Street, New Wilmington, formerly of Rhodes Place, New Castle, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilmington. She was born November 30, 1923 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Bridget (Rose) Izzo. She was married to the late Albert F. D’Ambrosia who died November 19, 2007. Mrs. D'Ambrosia was a clerk at Nickle's Bakery retiring after 30 years. She was a life-long member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. She was also a member of the Liberty Stars Softball Team in the 1930's. She enjoyed baking, sewing, flower gardening and spending time and doing for her family.

She is survived by three children, Rosemary Park and her husband Sam of Cleveland Heights, OH, Albert A. D'Ambrosia and his wife Mary of Boalsburg, PA, and Anne Navarra and her husband Tom of New Castle, one brother, Anthony Izzo of New Castle, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Benny, and John Izzo, and one sister, Antoinette Paolini.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 4 PM to 6 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Father William Siple of Mary Mother of Hope Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
