Mary Gagliano

Mary Gagliano, 95, of W. Madison Ave., New Castle, formerly of W. Wabash Ave., died Sunday evening, February 22, 2009 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born October 3, 1913 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late John and Lucy (DiNuccio) Rainey. She was married to Victor Gagliano, who died on March 12, 1983. Mrs. Gagliano was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish and a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Formati and her husband Albert ‘Smitty’, and Sarah Emery and her husband Anthony ‘Gomer’, all of New Castle, PA, one brother, Michael Rainey of New Castle, PA, one granddaughter, Melissa Morosky and her husband Wes, and two grandchildren, Jordyn and Tyler Morosky.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Vincent Quahliero, three brothers, Louis, Albert, and Alfred Rainey, and three sisters, Catherine Landis, Virginia Restivo, and Lydia Latone.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Erdeljac will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 pm. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
