Anthony P. ‘Dooders’ Nero, 78, of West Cherry Street, New Castle, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born April 12, 1937 in New Castle, a son of the late Patsy and Julia (Santillo) Nero. Mr. Nero retired after 24 years from National Steel as an Annealing Helper. He was an Army veteran serving at Fort Knox, KY. Mr. Nero was a member of the St. Vitus Church and also worked at K-Mart, Sears, the Medicine Shop and currently at Lombardo's Apothecary.

He is survived by three children, Brian Nero and his wife Angela of Harrison, OH, Daniel Nero and his wife Brenda of Mercer, PA, and Kathleen Nero of New Castle, one brother, Marion ‘Duddy’ Nero of New Castle, two sisters, Theresa Ludovici and Mae Newman, both of New Castle, five grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Benny ‘Figo’, Chuckie, and Alfonso Nero, five sisters, Ann Voras, Jane Nero, Veronica Nero, Antoinette Carbone, and Margaret Fontana.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Blessing services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
