Chester P. 'Chet' Toscano

Chester P. ‘Chet’ Toscano, 94, of Venice, FL, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. He was born on February 24, 1921, a son of Nicholas and Rosa (Scarazzo) Toscano. Chet was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harry (Kaiser) Toscano and his first wife Mary (Pettigrew) Toscano and a step son Richard Paul.
Chet is survived by his wife Trudy (Stevens) Toscano, his daughter, Patricia Slaughter and her husband Tim, granddaughter Michelle Wright and two grandsons, Mark and Michael Slaughter.
Chet is also survived by his step children, Patricia Esposito, Ronald Paul and Trudy Lynn Bennardo and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
During World War II Chet was the Command Gunner on the Ernie Pyle plane. He was a lover of sports and especially enjoyed watching his nephew Harry Toscao, Jr. playing professional golf. Chet was affiliated with Rockwell International Company (Boeing) for 40 years. Chet and his former high school sweetheart renewed their friendship after the death of his first wife and they were married on November 20, 2004 and have enjoyed almost 11 years of wedded bliss.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, New Castle, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM at St. Camillus Church. Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens in New Castle. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Chet’s name to your favorite charity.
