Leroy G. Hill, Jr.

LeRoy G. ‘Butch’ Hill, Jr., 59, of N. Liberty St., New Castle, died Thursday morning, March 5, 2009 at his father’s residence in Shenango Twp. He was born June 29, 1949 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of LeRoy G. Hill Sr. and Gladys (Parks) Hill. His father survives in New Castle, his mother precedes him in death. Mr. Hill was a grinder at Tanner Plating for 35 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era serving on the U.S.S. Little Rock. Mr. HIll was a member of the 2nd Amendment Rights NRA and the Castle Pistol Club.
In addition to his father, he is survived by, one daughter, Heather L. Austin of Tampa, FL, one son, LeRoy G. Hill, III of Tampa, FL, one brother, Richard L.Hill of New Castle, PA and six grandchildren, LeRoy G. Hill, IV, Alexandra Abbott, Samantha Marie Hill, Amanda Lynn Hill, Ryan Michael Thompson and Nathan Patrick Thompson.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 11:30 am at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. James Hockenberry will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mr. Hill to Jameson Hospice. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
