James M. Coates

James M. Coates, 71, of Ben Franklin Highway, Edinburg, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born May 27, 1944 in New Castle, a son of the late Robert and Mildred (Balkment) Coates. He was married to Patti A. (Cwiakala) Coates on October 5, 2011, she survives in Edinburg. Mr. Coates was a truck driver retiring after 55 years, he worked for numerous local trucking companies. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, Eagles and Gripper's Clubs. Mr. Coates enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James Coates of New Castle, four step-children, Sherri Claroni of Edinburg, Tricia Burton of Youngstown, OH, Austin Claroni of Edinburg, and Ashton Claroni of Edinburg, one brother, Richard Coates of New Castle, one grandson, James Coates, and three step-grandchildren, Deacon, Denielle, and Deona Burton.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
