Victor Tarquinio Gillest, 93, of Florence Ave., New Castle, died Saturday evening, March 21, 2009 at Lafayette Manor in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He was born May 28, 1915 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Musmanno) Gillest. He was married to Margaret (O’Flaherty) Gillest who died in 1979. Mr. Gillest was a Security Guard at Carbon Limestone for 15 years and was owner and operator of Vic's Pool Hall. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe. Mr. Gillest was a charter member of the Unione Calabro Americana Club, and was its first president. He was also a member of the Elks Club, Moose Club, Sons of Italy and Wolves Club.

He is survived by, one daughter, Janice Amodie of New Castle, PA, three sons, Gary Gillest of Olmstead Falls, OH, Paul Gillest of California, and Timothy Gillest of Cleveland, OH, nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Theresa (Parco) Gillest, three sons, Joseph, Victor, and Frank Gillest, two brothers, Ed and Ernest Gillest, and three sisters, Elvira Micco, Rose Patton, and Mary Gillest.

Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
