Marie J. Smiley, 82, of 1800 Morris St., New Castle, died Tuesday morning, March 14, 2006 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born July 20, 1923 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Lyla (Dobson) Bucey, her mother precedes her in death. Mrs. Smiley was married to William D. Smiley who died March 14, 2004. Mrs. Smiley retired after 20 years as a sprayer from Shenango China in New Castle. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Lorraine Fye of New Castle, PA, 1 brother, Earl ‘Bud’ Bucey of Akron, OH, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and husband she was preceded in death by her son William C. ‘Boots’ Smiley, her brother Jack L. Bucey, and 2 sisters Betty Baker and Virginia ‘Jane’ Collins.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, Inc.. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Savannah Cemetery.
