Florence Vernino

Florence Vernino, 99, of Katherine Street, New Castle, died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born May 4, 1916 in Donora, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Albert Carusone and the late Rose (Fresa) Zona. She was married to the late Carl P. Vernino who died July 9, 2013. Mrs. Vernino was a liner at Shenango Pottery for 15 years. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by two children, Marie C. Evans and her husband David of Ellwood City, and Raymond C. Vernino and his wife Eileen of Canal Fulton, OH, one grandson, David Evans, Jr. and one great granddaughter, Kelsea Evans.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Carusone and Joe Zona and one sister, Clementine George.
Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. There are no services scheduled at this time.
