Virginia B. Rich

Virginia B. Rich, 86, of Eastbrook Rd., New Castle, died Tuesday morning, April 7, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born May 27, 1922 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Nick and Anna (Perine) Rainey. She was married to Ralph E. Rich, Sr., who died on July 8, 2005. Mrs. Rich was a homemaker and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She worked at her family owned business, Rich & Freed Auto Parts as a bookkeeper for over 40 years. Mrs. Rich loved cooking, baking and being with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of various leagues for many years.

She is survived by one son, Ralph E. Rich, Jr. and his wife Amy of Hubbard, OH, one daughter, Darlene A. Genareo and her husband David of New Castle, PA, and two grandsons, Ralph Rich and Andrew Rich of Hubbard, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, William, Angel, and Clyde Rainey, and five sisters, Alma Fulton, Matilda Perod, Mary Lombardo, Viola Conti, and Mildred Bailey.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
