Bertha Jane 'Janie' Trott

Bertha Jane ‘Janie’ Trott, 62, of E. Washington St., New Castle, died Wednesday morning, April 8, 2009 at her home in New Castle. She was born December 16, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Walter E. Trott, Sr. and Mary Eloise (Moore) Trott. She is survived by her step-mother, Marie McConnell Trott. Ms. Trott was a Residential Program Supervisor for the Lawrence County ARC for 14 years. She enjoyed her job, loved all of her individuals she had worked with over the years and will miss their smiling faces. Ms. Trott was a graduate of New Castle High School and Shenango School of Business and enjoyed playing bingo and poker.

She is survived by two daughters, Ronda L. Trott of New Castle, PA, and Shannon Baker and her husband Shawn of New Jersey, one son, Shawn Trott of New Castle, PA, three grandchildren: Destiny Rae Grannis, Mikayla Kaitlyn Baker and Mariah Jaelyn Baker, one brother, Ed Trott and his wife Kim of New Castle, PA, one sister, Charlotte Trott and her companion Dan Pisano of Edinburg, PA, two step-brothers, John and Jim McConnell of New Castle, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Walter E. Trott, Jr. and her step-brother Robert McConnell.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 10 am to 11 am.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 11:00 am at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers to send outdoor plants for an outdoor garden to be created in memory of Bertha.
