Elizabeth A. Perretta, 92, of Cedar Crest Apartments, New Castle, died Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born March 24, 1917 in Niles, Ohio a daughter of the late Ralph and Angeline Infante. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Perretta. Elizabeth was a resident of Mahoningtown from 1941 until the time of her death. She worked as a clerk at the former Medure's grocery store and Isaly's restaurant part-time, but her full time job was that of a homemaker. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Lucy Church, now St. Vincent de Paul Church. Elizabeth was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Sons of Columbus Auxiliary, St. Marguerite Society and St. Lucy Church Rosary Society. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and her lifelong friends, and was an avid card and bingo player.
She is survived by one son, Richard Perretta and his wife Debra of Mt. Jackson, PA, one daughter-in-law, Joanne Perretta of Ellwood City, PA, six grandchildren, Shelby Magliari and her husband Felice of Massachusetts, Mara Palipchak and her husband Christ of Mt. Jackson, Rachel Perretta of Pittsburgh, Jeannette Perretta of Virgina, William Perretta, Jr. of South Carolina and Jordan Perretta and his wife Julianne of Maryland, four great grandchildren, Layne Perretta of Mt. Jackson, Samuel Perretta of Maryland and Mia and Kira Magliari of Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William Perretta, Sr., four brothers, Sam, Mike, John and Lawrence Infante, and three sisters, Concetta Debabio, Josephine Delucia, and Theresa Naples.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Erdeljac of St. Vincent de Paul Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
