Ruby Toney

Ruby Toney, 85, of formerly of Waldo Street, New Castle, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Jameson Care Center in New Castle. She was born December 28, 1930 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Amon and Martha (Shaheen) Jacobs. She was married to the late Albert Toney who died June 18, 1985. Mrs. Toney was owner/operator of Dave's Market for 20 years and then she owned Bert's Highland Market for 10 years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casino. Ruby was also an avid dancer and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, DeeAnne Passaretti and her husband Edward of New Castle, Denise Fabek and her husband Michael of Youngstown, OH, Debbie Cestrone of West Middlesex, and Daniel Toney of New Castle, four brothers, George Jacobs of Ellwood City, Ray Jacobs of Anaheim, CA, Tom Jacobs of Hubbard, OH, and Ben Jacobs of New Castle, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Mike, and Don Jacobs.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held Wednesday at 7:45 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elias Orthodox Church. Father Kevin Long of St. Elias Orthodox Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Cemetery.
