Walter J. Scott

Walter J. Scott, 66, of Winter Road, New Castle, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at his home in New Castle. He was born February 21, 1949 in Windsor Locks, Connecticut a son of the late Walter and Ruth (McComb) Scott. He was married to the late Diana C. (Matyskiela) Scott who died December 8, 2010. Mr. Scott was a truck driver for the Teamsters Local # 559 for many years. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War receiving multiple Purple Hearts for his service. Walter was an avid handyman and enjoyed building things and tinkering. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by three children, Melissa Golden and her husband Kirk of Rochester, PA, Ryan Scott of New Castle, and Kimberly Scott of Seattle, WA, one brother, George Scott of New York, and five grandchildren, Kelsey Golden, Alyce Hetrick, Westley Hetrick, Julie Hetrick, and Olivia Scott.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Dave Scott.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
