Marcus A. Rector

Marcus A. Rector, 51, of South Atlantic Avenue, New Castle, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his residence in New Castle. He was born in Baltimore, MD on March 27, 1964 a son of the late Roscoe and Constance (Matejski) Rector. Marc was an Army veteran serving with the 101st Airborne in Ft. Campbell, KY. He enjoyed traveling, stock car racing and riding his motorcycle. He was an adrenaline junkie. Marc will also be missed by his dog Skylar.

Dear father, brother, son and friend, Marc loved to laugh, tell stories & bad jokes, and connected with people from all walks of life. He was always in the moment, making in depth observations that demonstrated his appreciation of life and gratitude for his time on earth. Marc loved deeply and made no secret of that to those on the receiving end of his love. He had a light that shined even in his darkest, most painful days. With that light, he succeeded in being with us as long as was humanly possible, long enough for his precious, brilliant daughter Abby to remember his love for her forever more. She was his light.

He is survived by one daughter, Abigail Rector of New Castle, two brothers, Vincent Rector and his wife Michelle of Tempe, AZ and Jason Rector and his wife Amber of Columbus, OH, one sister, Veronica Rector Matejski of Tempe, AZ and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bill Rupert of Life Changing Ministries will officiate.
