Lena Julian, 96, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Addis St., New Castle, died Saturday morning, March 25, 2006 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born June 18, 1909 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Phillip and Florence (Teresi) Bordonaro, they precede her in death. She was married to Arnold Julian who died June 10, 1955. Mrs. Julian was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Church and worked in housekeeping at St. Francis Hospital retiring after 25 years. She enjoyed crotcheting and baking. Mrs. Julian was a devoted grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lorraine Caldararo of New Castle, PA, and Angela Marie Ursida of Beaver Falls, PA, 2 sons, Philip Julian and Peter Julian, both of New Castle, PA, 2 brothers, James Bordonaro and Philip Bordonaro both of New Castle, PA, 1 sister, Lena Grace Gaglione of Cleveland, OH, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Bordonaro, 5 sisters, Mary Battista, Helen Janus, Florence Widelko, Grace DiGiacomo, and Sarah Scarazzo, one grandson and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father Robert Schweitzer of St. Joseph the Worker Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
