Thomas E. Snyder, 87, of Tenth Street, West Pittsburg, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Ellwood City Hospital in Ellwood City. He was born April 13, 1928 in Nashville, Tennessee a son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Rainey) Snyder. He was married to Joan (Schultz) Snyder on June 20, 1959, she survives in West Pittsburg. Mr. Snyder was a machine operator and worked in the tool crib for Rockwell Standard retiring after 17 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Korea. Tom was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family and pets unconditionally. He enjoyed football, especially the Steelers, fishing and spending time with his buddy Calvin on his pond. He touched all lives he met and will be remembered for his kindness, patience and heart of gold. He was the epitome of all things good in life and left a mark on this world that will never be forgotten.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Theresa M. Russo and husband Vince of New Castle, Kathy A. Gabriel of New Castle, and Amy L. Jones of West Pittsburg, two brothers, Robert Snyder of Columbia, TN, and James Snyder of Butler, PA, two sisters, Mary Ann Cothron of Columbia, TN, and Betty Jo Allen of Brentwood, TN, eight grandchildren, Danielle Pozzuto, Leah, Thomas and Margret Rose Russo, Christopher and Michael Gabriel, Patrick and Heather Mastrangelo, and three great grandchildren, Sydney, Sarah and Kylee Mastrangelo.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Judith Pierle.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Blessing services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military funeral rites at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
