Mildred L. DeCarlo, 92, of E. Lutton St., New Castle, died Thursday morning, April 30, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born November 24, 1916 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Antonio and Carmina (Ginnochi) Cipriano. She was married to Peter A. DeCarlo who died in 1995. Mrs. DeCarlo was a cook at the New Castle School of Trades and the New Castle Area School District for many years. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and the South Hills Athletic Association and generally loved people.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann DeCarlo of New Castle, PA, and Carmine DeCarlo of Grove City, PA, one son, John A. DeCarlo of New Castle, PA, and one sister, Francis Parrott of New Castle, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony Cipriano, and five sisters, Mary Cipriano, Antonette Cipriano, Clara Koscuiszko, Charlotte Pivarnik, and Edith Lauro.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6 pm to 9 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 9:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father James Gretz of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
