Joseph Michael Shaftic

Joseph Michael Shaftic, 28, of Cleveland Heights, OH, formerly of New Castle, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home in Cleveland Heights. He was born March 27, 1987 in New Castle, the son of Donald and Tammee (Brest) Shaftic, his parents survive in New Castle. Joseph was owner and operator of J&J Landscaping in Cleveland, OH for a number of years. He enjoyed music, clothes, hats, piercings, tattoos, watching TV and fireworks. He also loved eating out and walking downtown Cleveland and doing lawn work and landscaping. Joseph will be sadly missed by his dog Coda.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his companion of seven years, Justine Lownsbury of Cleveland Heights, OH, one sister, Megan Buckel and her husband Vincent of New Castle, his grandparents, Donald and Delores Shaftic of New Castle, and Herbert and Gladys Brest of New Castle, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his nephew Hunter Vincent Buckel.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4 PM to 5 PM.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Randy Crum of Wayside Emmanuel Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be made to the family.
