Phyllis A. Nerti

Phyllis A. Nerti, 90, of East Madison Avenue, New Castle, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born April 8, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Lostracco) Dantonio. She was married to the late John R. Nerti who died January 17, 2007. Mrs. Nerti was a Nurse’s Aide at the Jameson Memorial Hospital retiring after 30 years. She also worked at West Penn Plastics for 10 years in Quality Control. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish and enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Anthony J. Nerti, Sr. and his wife Anita (Copple) Nerti of New Castle, one brother, Pete Dantonio of North Carolina, two sister, Virginia Pallerino and Thelma Mangino, both of New Castle, two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Eugene Dantonio, two sisters Helen Cialella and Yolanda DeBenardo and one grandson, Anthony J. Nerti, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 12 Noon to 2:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vincent de Paul Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:30 PM.
