Ruth J. Damphier

Ruth J. Damphier, 87, of North Cascade Street, New Castle, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilmington. She was born February 7, 1929 in Macon, Georgia the daughter of the late Oliver and Alma (Green) Marshall. She was married to the late Bruce W. Damphier who died March 8, 2015. Mrs. Damphier was a member of Life Lawrence County and she enjoyed making crafts, playing bingo and listening to music.
She is survived by five children, Phil Carter of Loxahatchee, FL, Michael Carter and wife Sue of Big Bear, CA, Tammy Damphier Murphy and husband Gary of New Castle, Duane Damphier of Etica, NY, and Darin Damphier and wife Jessica of Wells, NY and nine grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son Bruce Damphier, Jr. and a number of brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 12 Noon to 2 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jarod Mills of Clifton Flats Alliance Church will be officiating.
