Lilly Jane Palko, 90, of Haus Avenue, New Castle, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at her home in New Castle. She was born July 6, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of the late William and Margaret (McGee) Rees. She was married to the late John A. ‘Sonny’ Palko who died September 1, 2014. Mrs. Palko worked in the tax collector’s office for Charlotte County, Florida, retiring after 12 years. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Leslie Gray and husband Jerry of Port Charlotte, FL, John A. ‘Buster’ Palko and wife Cindy of New Castle, and Becky Cook and husband Bob ‘Pinky’ of New Castle, one sister, Sally Smith of Edinburg, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was aslo preceded in death by five brothers, William, Chuck, James, George, and Henry Rees.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
