Mary C. Recupio

Mary C. Recupio, 95, formerly of Dushane Street, New Castle, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born in New Castle on September 13, 1920 a daughter of the late Biaggio and Geovina (DiBenedetto) Elisco. She was married to the late Ralph S. Recupio who died December 17, 1988. Mrs. Recupio worked as a type setter for Johnson Bronze, in packaging for Fiesta Foods and in the laundry of Jameson Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Lucille C. Chirozzi and her husband Charles of New Castle, one brother, Anthony J. Elisco of New Castle, one sister, Katherine Mastrangelo of New Castle, two grandchildren, Brian Chirozzi and Christine Artman, and three great grandchildren, Calleigh Chirozzi, Jake Artman and Makenna Artman.
She was also preceded in death by two brother, Gaetano and Frank Elisco.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Church. Family and friends are asked to go directly to St. Vitus Church Friday for Mass. Father Bill Siple will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
