Gabrielle E. 'Gabby' Malizia

Gabrielle E. ‘Gabby’ Malizia, 16, of Carmela Dr., died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville, PA. She was born November 4, 1992 in New Castle, the daughter of Floyd and Sherri (Fundoots) Malizia, her parents survive in New Castle. Gabby was a student at Neshannock High School, a member of the National Honor Society and a recipient of the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. She was a member of the New Castle Regional Ballet and enjoyed dancing, reading, making crafts and the outdoors. Gabby wanted to be a Veterinarian and she loved her dog Blizzard.
She is survived by, her grandparents, Dorothy (Champ) Malizia of New Castle, and Francis and Marsha (Drosdzal) Fundoots of West Pittsburg, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lester Malizia.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
