John J. Malley, 62, of W. Clen Moore Blvd., formerly of Phoenix, AZ, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his home at the Greer House. He was born August 6, 1946 in New Castle, a son of the late Edward and Louise (Audia) Malley. Mr. Malley worked for Rockwell International Spring Division in New Castle for many years. After he moved to Phoenix he became a heating and air conditioning technician. Mr. Malley was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a 2nd Class Machinist Mate. He enjoyed music, working on computers, photography, playing cards, chess and bridge. In 1995, John received the Fred Brick Memorial Award for "Rehabilitant of the Year" for his remarkable recovery from a serious head injury in 1989.


He is survived by one brother, Joseph Malley of DeLand, FL, three sisters, Van Malley and Anita McKeever, both of New Castle, PA, and Susan Malley of Deltona, FL, four nieces, two nephews, one great niece, three great nephews and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Malley.

At Mr. Malley’s request there is no visitation.


A Memorial Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Episcopal Church. Father Dennis A. Blauser of Trinity Episcopal Church will be officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform a Military Funeral Service. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
