Jeffrey George Caffro

Jeffrey George Caffro, 50, of W. Sheridan Ave., New Castle, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Erie. He was born June 3, 1959 in New Castle, a son of George Caffro of Pompano Beach, FL and the late Rose (Damato) Valenti. Mr. Caffro was a crane operator for Omega Crane Co. in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for many years. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Alisha Caffro of Erie, and Abigail Caffro of Fargo, ND, one step-daughter, Kira Sonney of Erie, two sisters, Bernadette ‘Bunny’ Marry of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Toni Ann Caffro of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, four brothers, Terry Caffro of Winter Park, FL, Mark Valenti of New Castle, Craig Caffro and Ricky Jinar, both of Pompano Beach, FL, one grandson, Navin Alvarez, his former wife, Patty (Morey) Caffro of Erie, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Vitus Church. Father James Gretz of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
