Marshall James Passerrello, Sr., 84, passed away unexpectedly the morning of August 24, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Marshall was born March 4, 1932 to the late Michael and Nellie (DelPrincipe) Passerrello. Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Madeline ‘Dolly’ (Micco) Passerrello. Marshall’s work career started at Del’s Garage, then Citizens Lumber Co. into Passerrello’s Lumber Co. and finished with retirement at New Castle Sanitation Plant as plant superintendent. During the Korean War Marshall served his nation from 1950-1953 as a corporal receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Marshall was of Christian Faith and was a member of St. Vitus Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman spending many weekends at his camp training his sons and grandsons to be experienced hunters and fishermen. His greatest joy was spending time with his great grandchildren who will always remember him as “Scooter GrandPa”.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Marshall Passerrello, Jr. and his wife Patty and Jeffrey Passerrello, Sr. and wife Lorrie, four brothers, Joseph, Vincent and wife Glenda, William and Paul Passerrello, three sisters, Delores Voras and husband Jack, Theresa Miaella and Jewel Perrotta, six grandchildren, Marshall Passerrello, III and wife Nicole, Michael Passerrello, Sr. and wife Amanda, Jonathan Passerrello, Sr. and wife Elizabeth, Melanie Benaglio and husband Michael, Jeffrey Passerrello, Jr. and Tiffanie Kowalczyk and husband Michael, and eleven great grandchildren, Teresa, Andrew, Nicholas, Gabriella, Michael, Anthony, Marin and Jonathan Passerrello and Julianna, Madeline and Michael Benaglio.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael ‘Rocky’ Passerello.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
A blessing service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home on Friday evening.
