Elvira C. Caprose, 97, of Huber Heights, OH, formerly of New Castle died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her home in Huber Heights, Ohio. She was born March 28, 1919 in Ellwood City, a daughter of the late Louis and Philomena (Gott) Mingione. She was married to the late Carmen Caprose who died January 28, 2011. Mrs. Caprose was manager of the Sears Restaurant in the Towne Mall for 15 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church and the Red Hat Society in Dayton, OH. Mrs. Caprose was also a beautician and had her own beauty shop in Ellwood City for several years. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and was a member of several card clubs.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lombardo of Dayton, OH, one son, Louis Cipro of Washington, DC, four grandchildren, Robin Ewing and husband Jason, Niki Lombardo and husband Jeff Goliver, Vincent Lombard and wife June and Steven Lombardo and wife Caren, six great grandchildren, Alisha Ewing and husband Chris Haston, Jennifer Perkins and husband Bob, Anthony Goliver, Emily Goliver, Sophia Lombardo and Ben Casey and four great great grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Alayna and Mary.
She was preceded in death by her son Karl Caprose, and three sisters, Jean DeSanzo, Mary Fontana, and Virginia ‘Jenny’ Mingione.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9 AM to 9:45 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Frank Zanni will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum in New Castle. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation, 4822 Market St. #240, Youngstown, OH 44512.
