Bartholomew P. Vanasco

Bartholomew P. Vanasco, 83, of Crestwood Drive, New Castle, died Friday, September 23, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born October 29, 1932 in New Castle, a son of the late Rosario and Antoinette (DeStefano) Vanasco. He was married to Florence M. (Oliphant) Vanasco, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Vanasco was a foreman and supervisor on the P&LE Railroad retiring after 42 years. He enjoyed walking, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by five children, Philip R. Vanasco and wife Cheryl of New Castle, Marie A. Pagley and husband John of New Castle, Ronald A. Vanasco and wife Marcie of New Castle, Debbie L. Bowes and husband John of Mars, PA, and Diane L. Grzesiuk and husband Frank of New Castle, two brothers, Joseph Vanasco of New Castle, and Ross Vanasco of Sun City, AZ, twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Frank Vanasco, and two sisters, Lena Leckwart and Mary Vanasco.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Blessing services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
