Cornelia M. Hobrat

Cornelia M. Hobrat, 83, of Brentwood Avenue, New Castle, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. She was born June 9, 1933 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Howard and Minnie (Carnes) Buchanan. She was married to Thomas H. Hobrat on August 24, 1963, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Hobrat enjoyed the outdoors and nature, especially bird watching. She was an avid collector of figurines and she donated to many of the veterans charities.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Frederick Miller and wife Mary Jo of Erie, Robert Hobrat and wife Gina of Pittsburgh , and Paula Burkes and husband Gregg of New Castle, one sister, Carol Buchanan of Apollo, PA, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha Streit, four brothers, Wendel, Clarence, Howard, and Brant Buchanan, four sisters, Bernice Kennedy, Frances Heathcock, Glenna Weiner, and Marylyn Clendenning, and one granddaughter.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
