Clara A. Degidio

Clara A. DeGidio, 92, formerly of Ryan Avenue, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in New Castle. She was born June 5, 1924 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Gennaro and Principia (DeGregory) Cioffi. She was married for 56 years to the late Arthur DeGidio who died March 17, 1997. Mrs. DeGidio was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and was a member of the Ryan Avenue Club for over 40 years. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Marlene Schell of New Castle, Kathleen Shevetz and husband Joseph of New Castle, and Beverly Henshaw of New Castle, one sister, Ann Shaffer of New Castle, four granddaughters, Kiley Shevetz, Kristen Sansone, Renee McDonald and Chelsea Quinn and two great grandchildren, Addison and Andrew Sansone.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dominick, Joseph, Anthony, Pat, and Carmen Cioffi, and two sisters, Philomena Marso and Julia Colucci.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 3 PM to 7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father James Downs will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
