John A. Parente, Sr.

John A. Parente, Sr., 89, of West Elizabeth Street, New Castle, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born December 29, 1926 in New Castle, a son of the late Ignazio and Anna (Orlando) Parente. He was married to Theresa M. (Diana) Parente who survives in New Castle. Mr. Parente was owner and operator of Parente Auto Body for over 35 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He loved cars and working on cars and he also enjoyed woodworking, handyman work and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, John A. Parente, Jr. of New Castle, one step-son, Norman C. DeGennaro of California, one brother, Pat Parenti of New Castle, one sister, Francie Macri of New Castle, and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Vera (Mancini) Parente, one brother, James Parente, and two sisters, Victoria Parente and Clara Parente.
Private services will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
