John H. Evans, 75, of Perry, GA, formerly of New Castle, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia. He was born October 6, 1941 in New Castle, a son of the late Leslie and Martha (Sams) Evans. He was married to Norma J. (Dolph) Evans on June 24, 1967, she survives in Perry, GA. Mr. Evans was a baker at Croton Bakery, Value King and Giant Eagle for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, stamp collector and photographer and also an avid Browns fan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, John H. Evans, Jr. and wife Dodi of Perry, GA, and Sherry L. Edgington and husband Jeff of New Castle, one brother, Wayne Evans and wife Son-Tok of Ft. Worth, TX, one sister, Jacqueline Cole of Longview, TX, and three grandchildren, Amber Palfy and husband Thomas, Tyler Edgington, and Reilly Evans.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Timothy Erwin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
