Romeo L. Sperdute

Romeo L. Sperdute, 86, of Kildoo Road, New Castle, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born December 1, 1930 in New Castle, a son of the late Felix and Julia (Innocenti) Sperdute. He was married to Bertha J. (Germanski) Sperdute on October 23, 1954, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Sperdute was a self-employed general contractor for over 50 years. He also was a member of Brick Layers Union Local #9 for over 50 years. Mr. Sperdute was an Army veteran of the Korean Era. He enjoyed antique cars, gardening, making furniture and reading at the library.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Thomas J. Sperdute of New Castle, two brothers, Felix and Al Sperdute, both of New Castle, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and James Sperdute, and two sisters, Mary Ashton and Elaine George.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Blessing services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade of Mary Mother of Hope Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Madonna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Sperdute's name.
