Michael R. Pecore, Sr.

Michael R. Pecore, 97, of Edison Manor, died Tuesday morning, May 2, 2006 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born September 21, 1908 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania the son of James and Madeline (Celka) Pecore, they precede him in death. He was married to Sandra (Rainey) Pecore, who died September 24, 1999. Mr. Pecore retired after 22 years in labor for Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver, PA. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the Eagles Club and Bessemer Rod & Gun Club.

He is survived by 1 son, Michael R. Pecore, Jr. of New Castle, PA, 2 sisters, Leona Dick of New Castle and Julia Pelloni of Wampum, PA, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joann Pecore, his son James Pecore, and 3 sisters, Frances Fair, Rose Walsilewski, and Mary Murphy.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Church. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
