Virginia C. Dougherty Allsopp

Virginia C. (White) Dougherty Allsopp, of Cunningham Ave., died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born in New Castle, a daughter of the late Berarnido ‘Benny’ and Mary (Santora) Bianchine White. She was married to John Dougherty who died in 1957. Mrs. Allsopp then married John Allsopp in 1981, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Allsopp was a waitress at numerous local restaurants for over 30 years. She was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish and enjoyed bowling and cooking. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by, one daughter, Susan Carlson and her husband Dr. Eric Carlson of Knoxville, TN, one son, David Dougherty and his wife Janice of Cape Coral, FL, five grandchildren, Michelle Bayer and her husband Dave, John Dougherty and his wife Channon, Randi Dougherty and Kristen and Katie Carlson and three great grandchildren, Alec and Lauren Bayer, and Aleaha Dougherty.

She was preceded in death by three sons, infant John Dougherty, Jr., Richard and Martin Dougherty, three brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Leo H. White, and three sisters, Margaret White, Rose Marapese, and Theresa Clause.

A private funeral service will be held at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. On-line condolences can be sent to: www.williamrogerdecarbo.com.
