Wesley C. Cartwright

Wesley C. Cartwright, 65, of Oak Street, New Castle, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born April 5, 1951 in New Castle, a son of the late Henry and Violet (Clarke) Cartwright. He was married to Patricia J. (Simpkins) Cartwright on December 11, 1971, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Cartwright was a highway patrolman for the Alabama State Troopers retiring after 23 years and he was a Navy veteran. He also worked as a deliveryman for Hovis Auto Parts in New Castle for a number of years. Mr. Cartwright enjoyed painting pictures and drawing, gardening and surfing Facebook. He was an avid Steelers and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Mr. Cartwright loved spending time with his family and taking care of others.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Christine M. Christian and husband Chris of Huntsville, AL, Scott W. Cartwright and wife Jessica of Chicora, PA, and Rebecca G. Hartzell and fiancé Eric of New Castle, two brothers, Jeffrey and David Cartwright, both of New Castle, one sister, Marilyn Kerns of Linesville, PA, and six grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Henry Cartwright.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6 PM to 7 PM.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating.
