Sam ‘Bim’ Staph, III, 57, of Harlansburg Rd., died Friday, September 11, 2009 at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born April 30, 1952 in Michigan a son of Sam Staph, Jr. of New Castle and the late Gertrude. (Wilson) Staph. He has been married to Sandra L. (Newton) Staph for 24 years, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Staph was a truck driver for a number of local companies and also worked as a paver and an auto mechanic. He was a member of the Eagles Club, the GBU, and enjoyed auto racing, football and fishing. Mr. Staph was an Army veteran serving stateside.
He is survived by four sons, Billy and Joey Staph of New Castle, and Steve Lambert and his wife Julie and Chad Lambert and his wife Tammy of Michigan, one sister, Jan Watros of Michigan, ten grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Tony Staph.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, September 14, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:00 am at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Rob Cypher of Victory Church will be officiating.
